CareSource Foundation Grant Guidelines
Grant applications are reviewed four times a year. Organizations will only be given funding once in a given calendar year, and potential grantees must be IRS qualified 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. Applicants are encouraged to request funding for a single year only. All successful grantees will agree to a formal year-end evaluation process .
Key proposal information:
- Preference will be given to those applicants that best fit within the Foundation focus areas
- Preference will be given to proposals which will impact geographical areas in which CareSource has the highest concentration of members
Grant Restrictions
As a result of policy, law or funding restrictions, The CareSource Foundation will generally not fund:
- Organizations without 501(c)3 IRS tax exemption status
- Individual primary or secondary schools
- Sectarian organizations having a predominantly religious purpose
- Political parties, offices or individual candidates
- Fundraising events or benefits
- Individuals
- Majority capital campaigns
- Fraternal or veteran organizations
- Scholarships or educational fees
- Organizations who cannot provide adequate accounting records or procedures
- Tax-supported colleges and universities for operating purposes
- Funding for deficits or debt retirement

Looking ahead to 2009: In our efforts to address critical needs of the underserved, the Foundation is revising its focus and increasing grant opportunities for next year. The details and deadlines will be highlighted in our enhanced CareSource Foundation website in early January, 2009. Thank you.
Quarterly Grant Deadlines
Proposals received by the dates below will be considered for funding in the following quarter:
- Q1 - February 22, 2008
- Q2 - May 16, 2008
- Q3 - August 15, 2008
- Q4 - November 14, 2008
